In 2011, my mother Shirley Thomas was diagnosed with lung cancer. For eight years straight, she fought like a champ. During those 8 years she endured chemo, radiation, numerous appointments but never faltered. She persevered through the pain everyday, sometimes sacrificing the things she loved but she never gave in to the disease. The hardest thing was watching her lose her voice because her passion was singing. And she loved singing for the Lord. One day, she told me that she had a dream that God had it all worked out. There was no need for her to worry about the cancer in her lungs, because he had her a new set of lungs. As a child/caregiver, that was rough for me because I knew what she was saying, without saying it. While transitioning, my Mother told me that I was all she had in this world, and shortly after, she got her heavenly wings. Remembering her words, I wanted to create a platform and outlet for caregivers to help them cope with watching their loved ones battle terminal illnesses. My heart's mission is to educate and prepare them for the inevitable, and give them a new outlook on life.
We create a “Hope Garden” to provide healthy food free of charge for the communities underserved and undernourished.
Our mission is to promote health and wellness in our communities by providing help to people impacted by terminal illness, and by creating hope for their caregivers.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
